Hagenaar Jan-Paul (27) starts training for Private Detectives

THE HAGUE - After working in the entertainment industry and business for 12 years, Jan-Paul Kreukniet is changing course. He really wants to help people again. He does this with the Haagsch Recherchebureau and since this month he has added a real academy for Private Detectives, or as he prefers to call it: Private Investigators.

An exciting world that is shrouded in shadows for many people. Jan-Paul believes that it can all be more accessible and transparent.

He started his career as the owner of an entertainment agency for the exclusive market, and he also had a marketing agency for SMEs. After working for, among others, the National Police as an interim employee, he is now fully focused on his company Haagsch Recherchebureau and the associated Haagsche Recherche Academy.

Ageing and limited public-private partnership

With his education in IT, Marketing and Innovation, he sees plenty of opportunities for innovation and young talent. For example, Jan-Paul is now experiencing a lot of aging, little technology and limited public-private cooperation in the private investigation industry, and that can be done differently.

“Detective agencies can act as a full extension of the police. For this, however, it is important that all laws and regulations are complied with and that the private investigator is well trained before entering the field,” says Jan-Paul.

In 3-6 months, he will therefore prepare you to work as a Detective. After that, you can work for him or start as a freelancer.

Comprehensive training by specialists

In addition to the laws and regulations that detective agencies must comply with, it is also time for action. For example, as a prospective detective, you will be extensively trained on driving skills and attention will also be paid to counter-observation with scenario training.

But that's not all, you don't learn from a book to observe, interrogate and interview. You'll learn that by doing it a lot. With training actors and role-playing games, Jan-Paul and his team of specialist colleagues teach you the profession of detective.

The course is mainly aimed at people with a background in safety science, psychology, criminology or who have experience in a government department. Of course, you can also participate if, like Jan-Paul, you want to change course and really help people.
